Safety information and intended use

Version 0.1 (draft) · Last updated: 1 October 2026. This text is a draft; it will be legally reviewed before commercial use.

Intended use

Frekans Studio is software for creating sound environments for relaxation, focus, sleep-preparation routines and personal exploration. It is not intended to diagnose, prevent, monitor, treat or alleviate any disease or health condition and is not a medical device.

Before you start

  • Frekans Studio is not a medical device; it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any disease.
  • Some content is based on traditional or spiritual practices without scientific evidence; these are labelled with a ✦ T strip on every item.
  • If you have epilepsy or a history of seizures, a psychiatric diagnosis, a medical device such as a pacemaker, tinnitus or any other health condition, or if you are pregnant, consult your doctor before use.
  • Do not listen while driving, operating machinery or doing anything that requires your full attention. Sleep and deep-relaxation sessions ask about this again before they start.
  • Keep the volume low and comfortable. Stop immediately if you notice a headache, dizziness, ringing in your ears or increased anxiety; the "Report discomfort" button in the player also stops the sound.
  • Frekans Studio is for adults (18+). Do not play sound loudly through speakers near babies.

Volume

A browser or app cannot know the actual sound pressure reaching your ears, so we never show dBA, sound dose or a "safe level". Sessions start with a fade-in, the level rises by at most 6 dB per second and the output is limited at −1 dBFS. During long headphone listening you are reminded to take a break every 2 hours.

We recommend keeping your device's hearing-protection features on (for example "Headphone Safety" on iOS or the volume warning on Android).

Visual safety

No visual flashes more than 3 times per second and brightness never changes at the beat rate (WCAG 2.3.1). There are no visuals in sleep mode; if "reduce motion" is set in your operating system, animations stop.

Evidence labels

Every session and claim is labelled ● A, ◆ B, ▲ C, ■ D, ✦ T or ○ S. A session is never shown as stronger than the weakest scientific claim it relies on. Details are on the evidence methodology page.
