Evidence level T: Traditional/spiritual practice- What do we know?
- The chakra concept comes from spiritual traditions of Indian origin. Sets that assign frequencies to chakras vary between schools; there is no agreed list. The set used in the app comes from Hans Cousto's "cosmic octave" school: mostly octave multiples of periods such as the Earth's rotation, lunar phases and orbits (e.g. the Earth day, 194.18 Hz, for the root).
- What don't we know?
- The effect of frequencies on chakras has not been scientifically tested. There is no evidence that transposing a period into the audible range by octaves creates any connection to that phenomenon.
A session's level is the weakest of its linked claims; it is never raised by a strong but unrelated claim.
